This evening, as I post my 300th photo of the day, here’s the last week. Can’t believe I only have 65 days to go. Whew! Here are this week’s, which were all about autumn. The colors this year were extraordinary. I even posted a thread about it on Reddit, and a bunch of people commented that they agreed. The sad part is that they peaked this week, and now we have had so much rain and wind, most of the leaves are gone, and the color with them. Here’s this week’s, and my favorite is today’s shot of the extension cords because it’s good to have the power back on.

- Today was fun. This photo says it all. We lost our power at lunch and didn’t get it back until after dinner. This is how we cope. It’s one of the best reasons for having an EV. Our car, an Ioniq 5, has what’s called VTL, which means Vehicle to Load. Under our back seat is a plug receptacle. When the power goes out, I wait about an hour to see if it comes back on, then I plug into the car with my longest extension cord. The power comes in from the garage, and I place this on the floor in the kitchen, running one extension cord to the refrigerator, one to Kathleen’s chair, one to our TV, and one to our router so we have internet and can stream shows. Since we have a gas stove, we’re fine for food, and our water and gas still work great.

- It’s Keeley’s weekly turn, and today she is Queen Kong—or should I say, Queen of the Kong. If you are (or have never been) a dog owner, you might not know that the red thing she is licking is called a Kong. It has a large hole at one end (about the size of a half dollar—remember those?) and a small hole at the other. On Tuesdays and Saturdays, I have toast with peanut butter and jam for breakfast, and I put a couple of teaspoons of peanut butter inside the Kong. Then I hide it somewhere in the living room or kitchen while she eats her breakfast. As soon as she’s done, she starts her search. Once she finds it, it usually takes her about 20 minutes of licking to get all the peanut butter out. After chasing her ball, it’s her second favorite thing to do.

- It’s Friday, and every other Friday we order take-out Mexican food from Ooba. Their food is fantastic, but the best part is the two guys who work there on Friday nights. Over the years, they have become great friends. Recently, I was looking back at my calendar (which goes back to 199) and realized we’ve been getting take-out from Ooba since 2004. I’m not sure what’s more remarkable — that we’ve been coming here for that long or that they are still in business. The restaurant industry is tough. They serve excellent food with great service. If you’re ever in Redmond, this is a must-visit.

- OK, I know I seem to be flooding you with a steady stream of nature photos, but honestly, in the 27 years I’ve lived in Western Washington, I don’t think I’ve ever seen such stunning fall colors. I went for a longer walk today and snapped these shots. WOW!

- Took Keeley for another walk today, this time in the deep, dark, green forest. Thought it was very pretty. But the photo doesn’t do it justice. I love this part of what I call the Sun Break Trail. I know there is another name, but it goes behind all the houses on Sun Break Way.

- Autumn weather prevails here in Western Washington. Yesterday, it rained. Today beautiful sunshine, but crisp and cool. That means that I can take Keeley for a longer walk. One of the places we walk by is a golf course that runs through Trilogy, offering some great vistas.

- Today is all about autumn. I was planning to go and get my mail and I took my camera, and all I saw was color. So, here are the most colorful trees between our clubhouse mailroom and our home. It was amazingly colorful.
